Kenneth
About
Kenneth Ferrone is an Emmy-nominated producer and director whose work spans television, film, Broadway, and live event entertainment. Known for bringing ambitious, large-scale productions to life, he thrives at the intersection of storytelling and spectacle—developing bold, emotionally resonant work across mediums.
Kenneth's been behind some of the most daring live broadcasts on television, including the landmark Emmy-winning GREASE LIVE!, RENT, and ANNIE LIVE!—projects that pushed the limits of what “live” event entertainment can look and feel like. In scripted television, he’s produced series: SMASH, RISE, IRONSIDE, and DECEPTION on NBC, and he has overseen global production for ECHO 3, created by Mark Boal for Apple+. His work extends to feature film (POOR BEHAVIOR), immersive experiences (BROADWAY 4D), and award-winning short films—most notably HEY BEAUTIFUL, which earned top honors at multiple festivals.
On stage, Kenneth has built a dynamic career directing and developing new musicals and boldly reimagined new works. He directed the world premiere of THE WANDERER, a Broadway-bound musical based on Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dion DiMucci, and the musical adaptation of PRELUDE TO A KISS, by Craig Lucas, Daniel Messe, and Sean Hartley. His credits include the Off-Broadway hit ROLLING THUNDER, the 1st national tour of CRUEL INTENTIONS, THE 90'S MUSICAL, and collaborations on projects ranging from intimate new works to major productions in development for Broadway, including a slate of new musicals—work that blends nostalgia, edge, and theatricality into something that feels immediate.
He’s also been a key creative force behind acclaimed Broadway productions as the associate director of SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, FLOYD COLLINS, MOTHER PLAY, REDWOOD, LOVE LETTERS and WONDERLAND. His Off-Broadway directing work includes Colin Quinn’s THE NEW YORK STORY, a New York Times Critic’s Pick later filmed for Netflix, WHEN BLOOD RAN RED, LUCIE POHL: HI HITLER, ROLLING THUNDER, and SISTAS, which enjoyed a decade-long run, was broadcast on BET TV and Netflix, and earned multiple award nominations (OBA & AUDELCO nominations for Best Director).
His stage work has been seen at leading institutions including Paper Mill Playhouse, Milwaukee Rep, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Mark Taper Forum, Pasadena Playhouse, and Goodspeed Musicals, as well as internationally across Europe, Asia, and South America.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Kenneth is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, the Producers Guild of America, and the Television Academy. He is based in New York City and Los Angeles.
